Back to the Future

As many people who follow me on Twitter will be aware, I’ve been looking for a new role in digital media marketing over the last couple of months since I resigned from my last position early in the new year. ‘Very brave move’, said many at the time. ‘Very stupid move’, said my parents. But though I don’t normally reveal personal details via Tribal Boogie, I’m delighted to announce that as of today I am working at BOTTLE PR in Oxford

I’ve been looking for a role that I wasn’t sure even existed: a digital and social media communications role, ideally in a PR agency as that’s where I firmly believe this function should sit, with a client base of interesting brands that are at least partly already interested in social media. A successful PR agency, I should have said. With the opportunity to establish and expand the digital media division/function. And a chance to influence and train a number of quality PRs with regard to digital media. As well as pushing the agency’s own digital function. Oh, and also to help drive social and digital media forward within the PR industry as a whole as part of the role.
So when I started talking to BOTTLE and an opportunity to do just that presented itself, I jumped at the chance. BOTTLE is a dynamic and very progressive agency that is really embracing digital media, and to be given the chance to lead this aspect of its business is truly exciting. Furthermore, though it has changed over the last three and a half years, I worked with BOTTLE as Creative Director before leaving to set up my own online business at the end of 2006, so it’s a bit like returning home. And you know what? They’re genuinely nice people too.
Thanks to all those who have supported my decision, the reasons for it and for their best wishes over the last couple of months. Here’s to a bright future!
