The inaugural event was devised to provide something new to the digital communications environment. With may conferences for communications and PR professionals not adequately addressing digital technology in any detail, or being extremely passive in format, Digital Download Live was billed as the anti-conference.
Combining workshops, audience-led Q&As and lightning presentations with more standard conference sessions, the event was intended to be highly practical in nature, covering the major digital communications themes of the year.
One of the most successful sessions was a two hour digital media crisis simulation in partnership with software vendor Polpeo, where delegates worked in groups to manage a live breaking crisis across the internet.
