Digital Download Live 2019 took place on 16th May 2019 at Lumiere London in Southwark.

 

The theme of the event was Technology v Humanity: finding a balance between using and exploiting the latest digital technology and communicating in a human-centred way that consumers respond to.

 

With artificial intelligence starting to tailor messages to specific individuals and voice recognition improving to the extent that we will soon be having a proper dialogue with our devices, it’s easy to lose sight of what really matters to consumers. And what matters is human connections.

 

The old adage of ‘people buy from people’ has arguably never been truer. We want meaningful communications from the brands we purchase that add value to the world. We want to believe that they’re contributing something good to society. We want to belong.

 

10% of all ticket sales for Digital Download Live 2019 were donated to Mind, the mental health charity, raising over £1000.
